An Overview Of The European Antiquity



The westernmost peninsula is embraced by a majestic continent Europe. The Ural and Caucasus Mountains separate Europe from Asia. Europe is popular for its majestic caves that are beautifully excavated and painted. During the early Iron Age the historical antiquity started rising. Due to the colonization by the Greeks and Phoenicians many Mediterranean cities rose during this time. The influence by Ancient Greece resulted in the western democratic and individualistic character.

Aachen was chosen the Capital when the King of France came into effectiveness as the Emperor of western Rome. Saint Thomas, Aquinas, Abelard and Roger Bacon are few of the famous philosophers and theologians who are still very popular. The rapid urban growth was the result of new inventions attributed to the rise in Economy. For trade it was considered to be the golden period. The major factor for Europe’s commercial development was also the fact that it was surrounded by Genoa, Florence, Venice and Flanders. The spread of Islam at that time was due to increase in orthodoxy. The Ottoman Empire captured the Eastern Europe later. 
     
  Present Era of Europe

Democracy was made known for the first time and French revolution marked this Era. Europe was tore apart during the Napoleon campaign. In Balkan new states came into existence and Italy and Germany united. 

This period marked the beginning of Industrial revolution and two super powers USA and USSR came into scene. Germany got divided into parts and western Germany and Eastern Germany were formed after the Second World War. Europe united again after the demolition of Berlin wall. Europe became a major economical and political centre of power when many central and European countries joined the European Union in 2004 and 2007. Europe is famous amongst tourists for many reasons like its natural beauty and affluent past. It has a majestic combo of events culture, exhibition and many enthralling activities.
